Victor is a psychologist with extensive experience working with adolescents and youths with social-emotional difficulties. He was formerly a Counsellor (Allied Educator) with the Singapore Ministry of Education.

He has a special interest in anxiety and mood-related disorders, specifically, Specific Phobias and intervention strategies. Specific Phobia is a type of anxiety disorder that present with intense and irrational fear or anxiety towards a specific object, or situation. Some examples of Specific Phobias are Social Phobia (social anxiety disorder), Agoraphobia (fear of crowded or open spaces), Claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces), and Acrophobia (fear of heights). Phobias often lead to debilitating experiences that affect an individual’s quality of life. They also indicate the presence of underlying issues that may require clinical exploration and therapy.

Victor believes in working together with individuals to establish a safe and engaging environment where they can work through their difficulties in a validating and accepting setting.

He has experience in utilising therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema-focused Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Victor is also keenly involved in the application of virtual reality and computing technologies to therapeutic treatment and investigation into mental health issues.

Victor is committed to helping persons with mental health concerns learn to make positive and lasting positive changes in their lives through insight and awareness.

He emphasises the empowering of each individual to work towards their desired outcomes and becoming the best versions of themselves. He is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society and is working towards full accreditation with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Victor enjoys reading science fiction and playing video games. He is a big fan of horror movies too, much to the chagrin of his wife and dog.
