Chen Sung graduated with Bachelor's degree in Psychology with Honours from HELP University, and subsequently attained a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Chen Sung specialises in providing psychotherapy to individuals within clinical and community settings, focusing on those with conditions of Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Disorders, Specific Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Somatic Symptoms and related disorders. In his work with adolescents, he assists teenagers in managing anger, controlling impulses, and developing positive interpersonal skills. Additionally, Chen Sung extends his expertise to parents of children with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD), and Specific Learning Disorders, by delivering psychoeducation, implementing behavioural modification techniques, and conducting parental training programs.

Chen Sung engaged with clients from various ethnicities, cultures, and age groups, and he developed a particular interest in working with teenagers and adults. The primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), complemented by skills integrated from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), tailoring his approach to address the unique needs and personal challenges of each individual.

Chen Sung perceives the therapeutic journey as a personal and introspective realm where both the therapist and clients actively participate. Recognising the reluctance some individuals may feel due to mental health stigma, he dedicates himself to establish a non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, respected, and accepted on their unique paths to healing and growth. In the therapy sessions, he allowed his clients to express emotions and feelings, contain and process their thought processes and engage in collaborative effort to facilitate new coping strategies.

Chen Sung is experienced in performing psychological evaluations for adults, utilizing instruments such as WAIS-IV, KBNA, and Beck Inventory to evaluate cognitive abilities and psychological well-being. He also conducts assessments for children and adolescents, employing tools like WISC-V, CTONI-2, and VABS-3 to aid in school placements and the development of tailored learning plans within educational settings.

Chen Sung finds pleasure in watching movies, spanning from science fiction and psychological thrillers to dramas. For him, a movie night accompanied by a warm drink is the ideal way to unwind and decompress after a hectic day. Additionally, he takes delight in exploring shopping malls, particularly appreciating the air-conditioned environment on hot weathers.

Chen Sung provides therapy in English, Mandarin, Malay and basic Cantonese.
