Registered Psychologist (Singapore)

Kirsty is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). She holds a Master of Arts (Applied Psychology) in Counselling Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Through her experiences in various community as well as hospital settings, Kirsty has worked with clients across the lifespan from early childhood to geriatrics.

Kirsty cares for her clients through a client- and family-centred approach. She strongly believes in empowering individuals as well as their systemic support, collaboratively journeying towards progress 1 step at a time.

Kirsty is especially passionate about early intervention and upskilling parents. Complementing individualised therapy, Kirsty works with parents, teachers, and a multi-disciplinary team (speech therapist, occupational therapist, social worker) in supporting children with developmental and learning delays. Through many years of working with children, she has supported caregivers in mediating children’s emotional regulation, executive functioning, self-help skills, social skills, language development, as well as literacy challenges, enabling children to engage more functionally and learn better academically.

In her work with youths and adults, Kirsty holds a warm and safe therapeutic space by adopting a strength-based person-centred approach. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness are among the therapeutic modalities Kirsty selects from. Using a combination of these therapies, Kirsty enables clients to cope through trauma, grief and bereavement, mood and anxiety disorders, esteem, and interpersonal relationship challenges. Addressing marital and relationship interventions, Kirsty is a Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 3 trained therapist, and has experience in assessing custody, care and control issues for the Singapore Courts. As a psychologist, Kirsty is frequently humbled and amazed at clients’ resilience and determination as she journeys with them towards successful management of their issues.

Green spaces, travelling, and hiking are Kirsty’s favourite ways of recalibrating! She believes in taking ‘time-in’ through having space for reflections as well as through valued feedback from trusted companions who broaden her perspectives.

Kirsty provides therapy in English and Mandarin, and also speaks conversational Teochew.
