Hui Yu is a Clinical Psychologist and holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from the National University of Singapore.
Her clinical experience spans community and hospital settings, including the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), where she has worked with individuals across the lifespan. Hui Yu supports youths and adults (18 and older) navigating a range of emotional, behavioural, and neurodevelopmental challenges.
She provides psychotherapy and psychological assessments for concerns such as low mood and anxiety, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and health-related stress. She has a particular interest in supporting clients through mood and anxiety conditions, parenting challenges, and grief and loss.
Recognising that every individual is unique, Hui Yu integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, to tailor treatment plans to each client’s needs.
With gentle compassion and authenticity, she strives to create a safe and supportive space where her clients can explore, grow, and develop the skills to manage life’s challenges.
In addition to therapy, Hui Yu conducts psychological assessments for youths and adults to support learning accommodations, placement decisions, and the monitoring of cognitive or memory-related changes, including in dementia.
Outside of work, Hui Yu enjoys good conversations with her loved ones, exploring nature, and swimming. Always curious about the world, she loves collecting new experiences, whether through rural adventures, campervan living, or even a day as a film extra!
Hui Yu provides therapy and assessments in English and Mandarin.
